I tried to update the driver. MTP USB device driver is the one that was associated with it. So I tried to update. It gave error code 37. I uninstalled the driver 3 times, and reinstalled.

It still isn't working. This is a Canon digital camera. Their site says I don't need any drivers. I downloaded the newest version of their software. The software works, but My Camera doesn't allow you to upload untransferred images anymore.

N MTP-USB driver failed to install. Then on the Dutch MS forum, I found a tread about a Canon-camera, that uses MTP-USB. Samsung Mobile MTP USB Device Driver. Hello people, i am trying to solve issues with my canon camera on the computer. It can not open up and when i try to check the control panel it shows the yellow.

It doesn't even pop up. After doing more checking I see that sfc /scannow might be good to run. It found nothing.

I saw at one site, to do this: I posted the link, but it won't show up on here in this forum. Important: If a USB device is generating the Code 37 error, uninstall every device under the Universal Serial Bus controllers hardware category in Device Manager as part of the driver reinstall. This includes any USB Mass Storage Device, USB Host Controller, and USB Root Hub. I am a little worried about doing this. At least my computer is running right, at the moment, besides this error code 37.

I am afraid if I delete every device, then I might not get some to work, when I restart, and it reinstalls. Is this the best method for fixing this problem? I wish Canon would make their own driver, so I wouldn't have to deal with this.

But it looks like they aren't interested in that. Under the univeral serial bus controllers is 2 chipsets from Intel, and one host controller that I am also concerned about. If it doesn't recognize these after a restart, I will be up a creek. I have to get these photos uploaded asap. Any help would be very appreciated. Which update(s?) caused this problem, and on which date were you last able to connect to the camera without problems? Can you post a list of which updates you had on which date, and post the date when your camera was last able to connect properly and the date when you first plugged it in and found it didn't work?

Also are you able to get to the images on the camera by browsing for them from the file explorer, or is this a matter of the camera's own software not working AND the file explorer being unable to get at the cameras pictures and videos for you? Would suggest NOT deleting any device from that list because I have a suspicion that some of them are NOT removable devices but actual parts of your computer which just happen to be connected to the rest of the computer by USB like methods. If my suspicions are correct there then you might damage your computer if certain ones of those devices were deleted. Would suggest leaving that list of USB devices as it is for the moment.
