I currently am running X-Plane Version 10.5 on my iMac desktop runni. Ng OS Sierra 10.12.6. I downloaded your new scenery files available for the Hawaiian Islands and installed the required “yHPOverlays” file in my X-Plane ”Custom Scenery” folder. Next I downloaded the “OahuMolokai21” file and extracted the package file.
I then installed the scenery folders contained therein, namely, “zOrtho4XP+21-157”, “zOrtho4XP+21-158”, and “zOrtho4XP+21-159” into my “Custom Scenery folder”. Note that these files when extracted differed in name from those as identified in your installation instructions (i.e., “zHP+21-159”, etc.). Upon startup of X-Plane I get the warning: “Custom Scenery/HPOverlays/ will not be loaded. It requires and additional library scenery package that is not installed ore is missing some of its files”. When X-Plane does open with an aircraft at a chosen airport, the ground scenery for Oahu is an correct ortho-photograph of the island, but no custom airport scenery is present anywhere on the island. The hierarchy of of my files in the “Custom Scenery” folder is as follows: X-Plane 10/Custom Scenery/yHPOverlays/zOrtho4XP21-157/zOrtho4XP+21-158/zOrtho4XP+21-159/zzzHDMesh The last file listed exists from a previous download made in December 2015 from your website.
Should this file be deleted? Have I done something wrong? Thanks for your assistance in this matter, and thanks for your hard work in creating this product. Aloha, Paul Haring.
Hi X-Plane users! X-Plane 11.10 has been released, and with it has come some changes to the library structure.
You may encounter errors when working with X-Plane 11's Hawaii Photoreal overlay package. Until this issue is resolved, there are two options to help our users: 1. Remove the overalys. This will unfortunately disable roads and autogen, but it will eliminate the error. If you are an experienced user of Ortho4XP, we recommend you generate your own overlays using O. We will not provide any support for this option but our scenery is 100% compatible with all Ortho4XP-generated overlays.
Attention X-Plane users, Lanai and Maui have been released, and downloads will be live within 24 hours. Though it was only in the last week that we released Hawaii Photoreal, we have already discovered a major bug in version 2.0 of The Big Island: Coastlines were missing masks, resulting in jagged, often 'cliff climbing' ocean without waves along the shorelines or visible reefs in the water.
We are releasing a small patch for users who were enthusiastic enough to download ve. Rsion 2.0 to move them easily to 2.1 with minimal downloading (less that 100MB). For new users, a new version of Hawaii (2.1) will be released within 24 hours to avoid the same bugs for future downloads. We are hoping that we won't see too many other bugs that need immediate addressing in other islands for version 2.0. Hello all X-Plane users! We are proud to announce that the Big Island of Hawaii has been released.
This is the largest scenery package we offer, covering more than ten thousand square kilometres at 1m/px (ZL17) image quality, along with 0.5m/px (ZL18) at PHTO Hilo International Airport. This release is years in the making, and without the support the of our users it would have taken longer. We welcome donations to Hawaii Photoreal if you are happy with our work, as we are alw. Ays updating, refreshing and adding imagery and airports. Donations are welcomed at, and we thank you in advance for your consideration.
Plus versions of scenery, including seasonal textures and highly improved airports will be available in the near future for many of those who support us. Greetings X-Plane 11 users, Tomorrow we will be releasing the first part of the Hawaii Photoreal Scenery for X-Plane 11.
This will include the entire islands of Oahu and Molokai, as well as a sliver of Maui. You may be wondering 'why a sliver of Maui?' Well, that's because we are distributing the scenery in tiles rather than islands as the utility we are using for easier conversion will only process in one by one degree tiles. As the installation process is not directly straightforwards, we recommend famliarizing yourself with the manual for the X-Plane 11 version prior to downloading. Stay tuned, sometime in the next 24 we will have a download link available for the first of the islands. The manual is available through the following link.
Aloha to our users and followers! This is an announcement from the X-Plane 11 side of the development process. Our previous estimates were that the chain would be released by summer's end.
While this is realistic, and it would be fully possible (as the imagery for the entire chain is almost finished now), we wish to release a product that is refined and is an example of quality. For the sake of the quality of our product, the end of September is now when we intend to release. This is brought about by numerous problems with the terrain mesh which need correction, which can be a lengthy process in X-Plane. We are very excited for this scenery to be available to our users soon!:). As we inch closer to completion, we've finished the bulk of the work.
All that's left is detailing - fixing up the little scuffs around the edges. We're looking forward to releasing with ZL19 (6' resolution) orthophotos at PHNL Daniel K. Inouye International Airport as well as the multiple military bases on Oahu. This increased resolution will be available by default and will, like the rest of the islands, be integrated with the mesh of the terrain rather than draped over it. Also in the works are custom overlays generated from OpenStreetMap data as well as custom pavement textures at select airports.
What do you want to see in Hawaii when it's released?.Niihau is now available at our website! Please remove all old copies of Niihau and the HD Mesh for the island as this will conflict. To launch our new scenery format for X-Plane, we are happy to announce Niihau 2.0.
The most important features of Niihau 2.0 are as follows: Our launch product of our collaboration with the developer of Ortho4XP for seamless and high-performance conversion. It should be noted that we are using normal. Hawaii Photoreal resources and are not sourcing any imagery to online imagery servers through Ortho4XP. We are using a custom configuration of Ortho4XP. Drastically improved performance: In simple terms, versions 1.x of Niihau and all former islands had X-Plane's normal terrain with an HD Mesh, as well as our custom OrthoPhotos.
This meant you were rendering every bit of ground twice - we've made it so the orthophotos are now our only ground textures! A new download format.
Hawaii Photo Real Scenery
Islands will no longer be available in their entirety through one download. Downloads will take place as 1x1 degree tiles. Before we launch our product, we need to make a couple of things clear: 1. There are known issues within Niihau 2.0. A full list of these issues will be included with the download, so if you run across an issue you would like to report, please check that we have not already addressed it.
Hawaii Photo Real
The reason we are releasing with bugs is that these bugs are no currently possible to resolved and are not grossly detrimental to the flying experience we aim to share with our users. If you intend to use any scenery that is not developed by Hawaii Photoreal on the islands of Niihau, Kaula or Lehua, please consult with us as our scenery will conflict with pretty much anything, but we are glad to help. These issues will be resolved for the releases of future islands. There will be many updates in the future.
These updates will small and will be easy to install, but it will be important that our users check back at least once a month to ensure their products are up-to-date. We will publish all updates on this page, so following it will ensure your enjoyment of Niihau. Our users will also be glad to know that we are doing testing in both X-Plane 10 and X-Plane 11, and compatibility will remain for both for the foreseeable future. A little preview of the work in progress for Hawaii: The new cloudless version for the Big Island (v.0.95) is on its way. It will include some interesting features with the Plus version, like snow on top of the Mauna Kea and the Mauna Loa during January and some custom effects for the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, like activity in the Kilauea and some steam where the red hot lava flows meets the ocean and the water boils. Also you can see the first test to populate with aut.
Ogen the islands chain. Doesn´t look bad at all but still needs more work.
It will be released island by island as it is finished.
